The fundraising event is being organised by Ysgol Y Foel PTA 7pm-8:30pm at Cilcain Village Hall and all money raised will go directly to the primary school. There will be a cash bar on the night run by the PTA.
Sean Conway, extreme endurance adventurer has completed 105 consecutive full distance triathlons this year setting a new world record.
Sean swam 2.5 miles, cycled 112 miles and ran 26.2 miles (a marathon) daily for 105 days to set this new record. The swim was based at Mold Sports Centre, North Wales, starting at 5am to around 6:30am, then the cycle stage left the sports centre around 6:40am out to Holt then ended in Queensferry, North Wales where he started the marathon around the Chester Greenway in England. Sean started on Monday 10th April and completed 105 consecutive days on 20th July 2023.
Born in Zimbabwe and grew up in South Africa, Sean, who had an adventurous upbringing in the middle of the African bush, now lives in North Wales with his wife and two children. Sean holds the record for the world's longest Ultra Triathlon, fastest crossing of Europe by bicycle and the first person to swim the length of Britain. He has had numerous TV documentaries on the Discovery Channel and Amazon Prime and has written 7 books about his various challenges.
This latest world record was a new approach to adventure for Sean, normally self-supported, this gruelling challenge saw him working with a team of nutritionists, doctors, physios and specialist triathlon coaches. In addition Sean has raised over £100,000 for a charity close to his heart - True Venture Foundation.
