A little quiz for you? (Move your mouse over the question for the answer)

Picture
China. The population of China is 1.42 billion. Sean has also traveled to India which has a population of 1.4 billion. Thats 20X more people that in the UK.
Picture
Monaco. The entire border of Monaco is only 3.4 miles and would take you about an hour to walk around. Monaco is however the most densely populated country in the world with 38,000 residents.
Picture
Canada. The coastline of Canada is 250,000 miles long which is further than the earth to the moon.
Picture
Antarctica. Sean is yet to travel there but it's on his list. He wants to run an ultra marathon there.

Adventure No.3 - Fuel Right

It's important to get the right nutrition and hydration if you want to push your body and mind to its full potential. Most adults need to eat around 2000kcal per day and drink 2 litres of water per day. On some of Sean's challenges he's had to eat 8000kcal and drink 15 litres of water per day. Most of the food Sean eats is naturally grown and fresh.

Food that Sean eats to perform his best, both physically and mentally

Some questions to ask about the food you eat.

  • Is your food fresh from the ground, a plant, a tree or a free range animal.
  • How far has the food come to get to your plate. Did the lamb come from New Zealand or from Wales. It's much better to buy food that originated in the UK and even better if you can buy it from farms local to where you live.
  • Is your food highly processed. This is often hard to identify. Ask your parents to show you the difference.
  • How much sugar is in your food. Many food that aren't sweet have lots of sugar. Like cheap white bread. It's a good idea to limit how much we have of this.
  • Have you eaten lots of different coloured fruit and vegitables. Try and eat green, yellow, red, purple and orange fruit and veg. Try and make your plate look like a rainbow.

The Red Tractor label on food means it was produced in the UK. Look out for this the next time you shop. (Note that not all food produced in the UK has the Red Tractor label)

Adventure No.4 - Teamwork

Sean may have done all his challenges solo, but he was never in it alone. He surrounded himself with the right people, people who believed in his dreams too. There were many naysayers and internet trolls saying negative things, but it's important to ignore those people and find people who support your idea.

Some things to remember when people say you can't . . .

  • You can inspire others who are not confident in their own dreams or abilities, as at first they might find it difficult to believe in yours.
  • Your inner self belief is important to protect and remember that negativity from others often reflects struggles with their own inner self belief.
  • Surround yourself with positive people who demonstrate belief in you and your dreams. People who encourage you, people who listen to you and people who care about you are an important support system no matter who you are or what your dreams may be.
  • Listen to good advice, which can sometimes be hard to hear when you're so focused on achieving your ambitions. Trust your gut instinct when you know you've received wisdom or insight which can help you.
  • Express gratitude for the support and guidance of others who you choose to surround yourself with.

Adventure No.5 - When the Going gets Tough

You've seen some of Sean's successes. But what you might not know is Sean has had his fair share of hiccups as he calls them. He never calls them failures. He thinks of them like: "Well, that didn't work the first time, but I will try again."
Click on HICCUPS below and see some of the things that haven't gone to plan.

Adventure No.6 - Thinking Big
