Tail winds most the way and plenty places to find food and water. The roads have been OK. Generally good but a bit on the rough side. That hasn't helped my back at all. It's also very harsh on the tyres but incredibly haven't had one puncture. Thank you continentals.
Then it was time to head into the heart of the outback. I bought two more water bottles and went straight in. From day one I've struggled with dehydration and heat stroke. It's 35 and had to survive 300 mile stretches with only one food stop. I landed up giving people water to take ahead and leave in a bush for me. This worked well.
I also had to buy a little bivy shelter as it gets really cold and windy at night.
So I'm now out of the bad section and heading north to Darwin.
Back playing up a bit but not giving up.
