A nice change from being chased by tornado's eh? Unfortunately Australia (well this part anyway) has seen one of the wettest season ever. Nice. Just what I need. I landed at 10am and after the usual rigmarole of getting through customs and falling dangerously close to the old rubber glove treatment I was on my way. . . . for 50 meters that was until I got my first flat tire. Yes. I got a flat in the airport. Not a good start. Anyway, onwards and upwards to the Pacific highway.
The start was hilly but it soon flattened out. Over the next few days things have pretty much been the same. Wake up to rain, cycle cycle cycle and eat. I can't believe how expensive this place is. My last two nights I decided to camp out which I always enjoy. Night one was in a bus shelter and the second night was underneath a cafe with a couple of geese. Fun times. The people are friendly. One fella actually said "Fair Dinkum" to me. I didn't realise people actually said that. It made me laugh.
I am now in Brisbane trying to sort out a new phone (My other one got nicked) and get my Rohloff some new oil. I'm leaving soon to head north along the coast. Please let it be sunny!
It goes without saying my back and neck hurt still. The hills kill my back and the flats hurt my neck. I've decided to stop moaning about it. They are sore and I have come to terms with them being this way until I finish. I will just have to make do the best I can. I don't want to be 'That Guy' who never shut up about his fractured back so from now on . . . unless its really bad. I'm keeping the moaning to a minimum.
