I somehow managed to cycle 300 miles more than I though this leg would take me but enjoyed all of it. My average has been VERY low at around 140 miles per day. Pretty annoying being so slow but need to not ruin my spine for good. Keeping a healthy balance of getting some good miles in without putting myself in a wheelchair by the time I'm 50. That's harder than it sounds. I always want to push on but need to be sensible.
Thailand has consistantly the best roads I have cycled on anywhere in the world. Great shoulder and good drivers. Its been super hot too. 37 degrees each day and very humid. Been slapping on the ginger factor suncream (spf 100000) every few hours as it keeps sweating off. I do like the heat though. It keeps the mood up. You can also have a shower in all your clothes to wash them and they dry super quick.
The food has been great but very low on the calorie side. I guess that why you hardly ever see an overweight Thai person. I really struggled to get enough food. I would have two full bowls of noodles or soup and then be hungry an hour later. The one good thing is that there is food everywhere . . and water too. I never had to carry more than 1 bottle of water. I did though as I didn't want to stop all the time but you can survive carrying nearly no food at all.
India next. Pretty excited to go back. Its the only country on my entire route (except Europe) that I have been to before. I love it there. Not sure its going to help my food situation but looking forward to it non the less.
